This nonexempt, hourly position operates under general supervision, following established procedures while exercising independent judgment in completing duties. Cashiers are responsible for managing transactions by receiving payments via cash, vouchers, or automatic debits and issuing receipts, refunds, or change as needed. They assist in the preparation and packaging of food items, ensuring appropriate food temperatures and portion sizes to maintain food quality and safety. Additionally, cashiers stock and rotate food items on the serving line, maintain cleanliness in checkout and serving areas, and perform general cleaning duties such as storing unused food items. They also provide excellent customer service by answering questions, explaining policies, and resolving complaints. Cashiers help maintain sales accuracy by balancing monies received and completing necessary reports.
