Students and staff pay for food items using cash, vouchers, or automatic debit systems, which are managed by the cashier. The position requires handling money transactions accurately, operating cash registers, maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the serving line, and assisting in food preparation and packaging when necessary. Given the nature of the duties, employees work under general supervision and are expected to exercise judgment on how and when to complete assigned tasks.

This position is fundamental to the smooth operation of school meal services and contributing to the overall student experience. Cashiers play an important role in fostering a welcoming and efficient environment for students of diversely aged groups, ensuring that transactions are processed swiftly and courteously.
