The role of Host/Cashier at Boyd Gaming involves being the first point of contact for guests entering our restaurant facilities. This position requires a blend of friendly customer service, operational proficiency, and multitasking capabilities. As a Host/Cashier, you will greet and escort guests to their tables, provide detailed information about menu items and specials, and manage the flow of the dining area by coordinating service personnel and breaks. Handling payments accurately with a computerized cash register is a critical duty, as you are responsible for maintaining an accurate bank throughout your shift. Additionally, you will be tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the dining environment by monitoring compliance with health regulations. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential to resolve any customer complaints and uphold the brand's reputation for excellent service. This role demands a proactive attitude, basic math skills, and the stamina to stand or walk for extended periods during shifts. Previous experience as a cashier or host preferred
Must have excellent customer service skills
Must have basic math skills
Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods during a shift
Must be able to obtain and maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications

Job Duties

Greet and escort guests to their table
Accept payments from restaurant guests using a computerized cash register and maintain an accurate bank
Provide menus to guests and inform them of specials
Circulate through the restaurant and coordinate activities of service personnel to provide fast and courteous service to customers
Assign bus person and food server breaks
Inspect and monitor cleanliness of room and compliance with safety and health code regulations
Resolve customer complaints or refer to restaurant manager
Maintain records of number of guests served during shift, employee absences, or problems with equipment or food service
Operate computerized cash register to itemize and process guest checks in accordance with established procedures
Maintain an accurate bank at all times
