Job Description
DoubleTree Downtown is a vibrant and welcoming hotel establishment known for its excellent hospitality services and commitment to guest satisfaction. As part of the renowned Hilton Worldwide brand, DoubleTree Downtown offers guests a comfortable and memorable experience through well-appointed rooms, gourmet dining options, and exceptional service standards. Located in a dynamic urban setting, this hotel attracts a diverse clientele including business travelers, tourists, and local visitors looking for quality accommodations and dining experiences. The brand is widely recognized for its dedication to excellence in guest services, making it a preferred destination for travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and a friendly atmosphere.
The Host role at DoubleTree Downtown is crucial in delivering a warm and inviting atmosphere to restaurant guests. This position involves managing guest seating logistics to optimize comfort, ensure fair distribution among serving staff, and facilitate the smooth flow of orders to the kitchen. Hosts are the initial point of contact for diners, setting the tone for their dining experience with prompt greetings and attentive service.
In addition to greeting guests, Hosts are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of their workstations, including storage areas and kitchen spaces to support seamless service operations. They assist in serving beverages and starters such as breads and butter, enhancing the overall dining experience. Their role extends to backing up servers by helping deliver orders and pre-busing tables, contributing to efficient table turnover and guest satisfaction.
Clearing and resetting tables promptly and accurately is another key duty, ensuring that tables are well-prepared for incoming guests at all times. Hosts also handle the transportation and sorting of soiled tableware to the dishwashing area, adhering to hygiene and safety standards rigorously. This role requires a high level of attention to safety procedures, cleanliness, and team cooperation, including assisting with buffet setup when needed.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform routine cleaning using hotel-approved products are essential, as hosts spend much of their shift standing, walking, and moving furniture or equipment. The position demands the physical capability to lift and carry heavy items such as tables, chairs, and podiums, sometimes weighing up to 80 or even 100 pounds when using hand carts. Flexibility, good communication skills, and a neat appearance aligned with company guidelines are also vital for success in this role.
DoubleTree Downtown emphasizes a culture of equal opportunity and inclusivity, ensuring a respectful work environment where all employees have a chance to thrive regardless of their background or identity. As part of the hospitality team, the Host contributes directly to the hotel’s reputation by promoting a welcoming environment and supporting an efficient service flow that results in positive guest experiences.
This position offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest relations to grow their skills in a supportive and dynamic setting. Whether you are launching your career in the hotel and restaurant industry or looking to enhance your expertise, the Host role at DoubleTree Downtown provides a rewarding platform with significant interaction with guests and fellow team members, enhancing personal and professional development.
