We are currently expanding our front-of-house team and are seeking enthusiastic Cashiers to join us in delivering top-notch service and a personalized dining experience. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our restaurant, acting as the first point of contact for guests and playing a pivotal role in their overall satisfaction.

As a Cashier at our restaurant, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that go beyond simply handling transactions. This role requires a blend of customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. You will welcome guests with a friendly demeanor, manage payments accurately, and assist with seating guests promptly. Your responsibilities will also include answering phone calls with professionalism, managing takeout orders, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the cashier area and dining space. Engaging with guests to create genuine connections and ensuring that their individual needs are met is crucial to this role. You will apply your knowledge of the menu to make helpful suggestions and address any concerns to foster a positive dining experience.

This position demands mobility and the ability to manage physical tasks such as transporting chairs and wiping down tables, which helps maintain a clean and pleasant environment for guests. Excellent communication skills are essential, enabling you to interact effectively not just with guests but also with team members, facilitating smooth operations and teamwork. Experience in front-of-house roles such as hostess, greeter, team member, or cashier is highly valued as it prepares you for the dynamic nature of this job.

Job Requirements

  • Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required
  • Mobility required during the entire shift
  • Ability to transport and carry objects such as high-chair up to 15 pounds up to 15 times per shift
  • Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant
  • Must be able to stand and exert a well-paced mobility for periods up to four hours in length
  • Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a host, hostess, greeter, maitre d, matradee, maitres d, crew member, team member, customer service, cashier, associate or other front-of-house part-time restaurant job
  • Reading, writing and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Provide warm welcome to incoming guests while ensuring timely seating
  • Make genuine connections and engage guests to ensure a personalized dining experience
  • Follow proper phone etiquette when answering the phones
  • Bus tables and deliver food to guests
  • Maintain a clean and orderly cashier area and complete assigned cleaning tasks
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints and concerns
  • Accommodate any special needs of guests such as boosters, highchairs, and disabilities
  • Take payments and manage cash drawer
  • Apply menu knowledge to make knowledgeable suggestions to guests
  • Correctly enter all orders into the POS system, bag and manage takeout orders
  • Thank guests as they leave and solicit feedback about their service and dining experience
