CASHIER/FOOD SERVICE WORKER (FULL TIME)

We are currently hiring immediately for a full-time Cashier/Food Service Worker position to join our campus food service team. This position offers a fixed pay rate of $19.00 per hour. The role involves operating the Point of Sale (POS) system, assisting the chef in food preparation, preparing coffee, and maintaining cleanliness at the coffee and cashier stations. Candidates must have prior food service experience to be considered for this role. As a Cashier/Food Service Worker at California State University Stanislaus, you will play a vital role in supporting the campus dining services by ensuring efficient cashier operations and high-quality food service. Your responsibilities include food preparation tasks such as handling meats, vegetables, baked goods and desserts, as well as assisting with catering orders. You will perform accurate cashier duties using the POS system, maintain clean and organized service areas, and manage inventory and restocking of supplies and food products. This position also requires setting up the serving line while monitoring and recording food temperatures to ensure compliance with safety standards. Serving hot and cold items to customers and adhering to first-in, first-out food rotation principles are also essential parts of the job. You will participate in general cleaning duties, including trash removal to designated areas.
