Job Description

Dish Society is a beloved fast casual restaurant located in the vibrant West University neighborhood of Houston. Known for its commitment to community, sustainability, and supporting local producers, Dish Society offers a unique dining experience that blends chef-driven seasonal menus with an emphasis on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The restaurant is admired for its laid-back yet energetic atmosphere, warm hospitality, and weekend brunches that have become a neighborhood favorite. As a part of Houston's dynamic dining scene, Dish Society prides itself on delivering great food without the fuss of formal dining, creating an inviting space where guests can enjoy exceptional meals, quality coffee, and friendly service in a casual setting. The culture at Dish Society encourages growth, cross-training, and team collaboration, making it a rewarding environment for hospitality professionals and food enthusiasts alike.

As a cashier at Dish Society in West University, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience. This position is far more than just taking orders; it is about being the face of the restaurant, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring each guest feels valued and appreciated. Working in a fast-paced environment, cashiers greet guests with warmth and enthusiasm, guide them through the menu, and efficiently process orders using the point-of-sale system. Beyond handling transactions, cashiers often assist with running food, crafting coffee and non-alcoholic beverages to specification, and maintaining a clean and organized front-of-house area.

This role accommodates both full-time and part-time schedules with weekend availability as a must, reflecting the busy nature of the hospitality business especially over brunch and peak hours. Beginning at $13 per hour during training, cashiers can expect to earn a combination of base pay plus tips once fully trained, providing a competitive compensation structure. The position requires excellent communication skills, an upbeat attitude, and a passion for teamwork. Employees at Dish Society are encouraged to embrace continuous learning and internal growth opportunities, benefiting from a workplace culture that values employee development and encourages stepping into new roles as skills grow.

If you thrive in an environment where community values matter and you enjoy engaging directly with guests to make their dining experience memorable, the Dish Society cashier position offers a fulfilling career path. Hospitality superheroes and foodie trailblazers who bring energy, positivity, and dedication will find this role rewarding and dynamic. Joining Dish Society means becoming part of a team that loves what they do, supports one another, and continuously strives to exceed guest expectations while celebrating the vibrant spirit of Houston's culinary scene.
