As a Cashier at JCPenney, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an outstanding customer service and sales experience. The position involves maintaining checkout standards, assisting with various general operations such as omnichannel initiatives, recovery, inventory, and supporting company-wide performance standards with a focus on shrink control and safety. Cashiers act as the frontline ambassadors for the brand, ensuring that each customer interaction reflects the company’s values and commitment to excellence. This role requires you to efficiently manage checkout processes including returns and re-ticketing, uphold merchandising standards, and facilitate a smooth shopping experience by restocking impulse fixtures and maintaining an inviting checkout environment.
In addition to the direct customer-facing responsibilities, you will support omnichannel operations to improve the shopping journey and contribute to maintaining store appearance through recovery and fitting room upkeep. Participation in annual inventory processes is also a key duty to ensure inventory accuracy and availability. Your role will involve enforcing safety initiatives and complying with the company’s performance standards such as the iCAP program, which emphasizes product and service sales, customer service quality, profitability, productivity, and attendance.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in a retail cashier role preferred
- ability to stand for extended periods
