The Customer Service & E-Commerce Team Member role at Whole Foods Market is integral to delivering an exceptional shopping experience. This position primarily supports the front-end operations, assisting customers during the check-out process, performing all cash register functions, and providing aid at the customer service desk. Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an eight-hour shift
  • Ability to use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Capability to perform bending, twisting, squatting and reaching motions
  • Exposure to approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters and pallet jacks
  • May require the use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • Upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • Follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • Uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • Cleans and stocks Front End areas, including own register
  • Follows all cash handling procedures
  • May assist with training of new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members
  • Assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines
  • Proactively participates in company programs
  • Arrives to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provides excellent customer service and models suggestive selling techniques
  • Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously
  • Maximizes sales potential through effective prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties
  • Ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Reports safety hazards and violations
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Completes shopper training and tasks as needed
