This position is for a Customer Service & E-Commerce Team Member, a vital role within the Whole Foods Market team that supports a seamless shopping experience for customers. As a key member of the front-end operations, you will assist customers during checkout by efficiently operating cash registers, bagging groceries, and offering friendly, courteous service to create a welcoming atmosphere. Working closely with other team members, you will ensure the area is well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing while upholding the store’s high standards for safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance. This role requires vigilance in following government regulations related to alcoholic beverage sales and taxation, managing cash and electronic transactions accurately, and handling scalable items properly. The ability to multitask and support other team members, including helping to train new cashiers, positions you as a dependable contributor to the store’s customer service goals.
The role also includes responsibilities beyond immediate cash register duties, such as managing customer flow, reducing wait times, and proactively participating in company-wide programs and initiatives aligned with Whole Foods Market's mission. Job Duties
- Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
- upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
- follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
- uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
- cleans and stocks front end areas, including own register
- follows all cash handling procedures and meets regional cashier variance policy
- may assist with training new cashier and cashier assistant team members
- assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines to reduce wait times
- proactively participates in company programs as directed by leadership
