This particular opportunity is for a position on the Customer Service & E-Commerce team. The role is primarily focused on providing exceptional customer service during grocery checkout, including operating cash registers efficiently and accurately, bagging groceries, assisting at the customer service desk, and upholding the company’s high standards in service and food safety. Team members in this position contribute to a welcoming and organized front-end environment through the maintenance of customer service displays and the performance of opening, mid, and closing duties. Candidates will be expected to ensure compliance with government regulations relating to the sale of items such as alcoholic beverages, as well as company policies involving cash handling and payment processing. The role also requires teamwork and participation in ongoing company programs aimed at enhancing the customer experience and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing/walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday
  • able to perform hand use motions such as single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • able to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • tolerance to temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters and electric pallet jacks
  • may require ladder use.

Job Duties

  • Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • cleans and stocks Front End areas, including own register
  • follows all cash handling procedures
  • may assist with training of new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members
  • assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines
  • proactively participates in company programs
  • arrives on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work
  • provides excellent customer service and models suggestive selling techniques
  • maximizes sales potential through proper product handling and merchandising
  • follows and ensures compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations
  • maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • immediately reports safety hazards and violations
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • completes shopper training and tasks as needed for US team members.
