This position is with the Customer Service & E-Commerce team at Whole Foods Market. As a member of this team, you will play a critical role in shaping an outstanding shopping experience by assisting customers during the checkout process, providing excellent service at the customer service desk, and contributing to the smooth operation of front-end activities. The role involves handling cash register functions, bagging groceries, maintaining clean and appealing service areas, and upholding the company’s customer service standards. You will be expected to perform multiple tasks beyond the register, including supporting e-commerce order preparation and shopper responsibilities.

The role demands a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and adherence to company policies such as cash handling procedures, government regulations on sales, and health and safety standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior cashier or customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash accurately
  • Familiarity with store policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to operate cash registers and handle cash transactions accurately
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • Upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • Follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • Uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • Cleans and stocks front end areas, including own register – changing tapes and ribbon as necessary
  • Follows all cash handling procedures – meeting and exceeding regional cashier variance policy
  • May assist with training of new cashier and cashier assistant team members
