The role available within Whole Foods Market is for a Customer Service & E-Commerce Team Member, a vital position contributing to the overall customer experience and operational success of the store. This role involves directly interacting with customers, handling transactions efficiently, and supporting the store’s e-commerce efforts. The team member is expected to assist customers during the checkout process by performing all cash register functions, bagging groceries, and managing customer service desk activities. Maintaining attractive customer service displays and providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and other team members is a core responsibility.

Job Requirements

  • No prior retail experience required
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • able to stand or walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • able to perform bending, twisting, squatting and reaching motions
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to use tools and equipment such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • cleans and stocks Front End areas, including own register
  • follows all cash handling procedures
  • may assist with training of new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members
  • assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines
  • proactively participates in company programs as directed by leadership
  • provides excellent customer service and addresses needs of customers
  • maximizes sales potential through effective product prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
  • maintains clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties
  • immediately reports safety hazards and violations
  • performs other duties as assigned by leadership
