The role available is for a Customer Service & E-Commerce Team Member. This position is responsible for assisting customers during the check-out process, performing cash register functions, and maintaining customer service displays. Team members are expected to embody the Whole Foods Market vision and uphold standards of courteous, friendly, and efficient service at all times. In addition to front-end cashier duties like ringing up groceries accurately and efficiently, adhering to government regulations on alcohol sales and taxes, and handling various payment methods, team members also support e-commerce operations and help reduce wait times by controlling customer flow. A significant part of the role includes teamwork, potentially assisting with training new employees, and contributing to maintaining a clean and inviting shopping environment.

The wage range for this position is $17.00 to $25.40 hourly, depending on experience, and includes eligibility for Whole Benefits. New team members who complete 90 days of employment successfully may be eligible for a base rate increase. The role demands physical activity, including standing or walking for 6-8 hours per day, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in various environmental conditions such as wet or cold areas. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing or walking 6-8 hours per day
  • Ability to use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters and electric pallet jacks
  • May require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Checks out customer groceries efficiently and accurately
  • Upholds government regulations concerning sale of alcoholic beverages and taxation
  • Follows proper check, ATM, and credit procedures
  • Uses proper tares procedures when ringing up scalable items
  • Cleans and stocks Front End areas, including own register - changing tapes and ribbon as necessary
  • Follows all cash handling procedures - meeting and exceeding regional cashier variance policy
  • May assist with training of new Cashier and Cashier Assistant Team Members
  • Assists supervisor in controlling customer flow and backed up lines - helping reduce customer waiting time
  • Proactively participates in company programs as directed by leadership
  • Arrives to workstation on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
  • Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
