The cashier's duties extend beyond the register and include assisting in the self-checkout area, stocking shelves, moving carts, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. This diversity of tasks helps associates gain broader retail experience and develop a variety of skills. Working conditions vary by location but may involve exposure to different weather conditions and physical activities such as lifting loads up to 75 pounds with assistance.

Lowe's supports its employees through comprehensive benefits such as multiple health insurance options, dental and vision coverage, paid time off, and retirement savings plans with company matching. Additionally, educational support including tuition assistance and trade skills scholarships encourages continual learning and career advancement.
