Job Description

Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW) is a leading FORTUNE 100 home improvement retailer known for serving millions of customers each week across the United States and beyond. With more than 1,700 stores, 530 branches, and 130 distribution centers, Lowe's is a powerhouse in the home improvement industry. The company generates billions in annual revenue, with fiscal year 2025 sales surpassing 86 billion dollars. Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, Lowe's is committed not only to providing quality products but also to enriching the communities it serves. From creating safe, affordable housing solutions to improving community spaces and supporting skilled trade development, Lowe's actively invests in social programs and disaster relief efforts to make a meaningful impact nationwide.

As a cashier at Lowe's, you play a key role in ensuring customers have an exceptional experience from the moment they approach the checkout. Your primary responsibility is to offer fast, friendly, and professional service while handling purchases, returns, and queries efficiently. The cashier role is integral to Lowe's ability to serve its customers and communities positively by facilitating smooth, enjoyable checkout transactions. Beyond scanning and bagging items, you may also assist in other store functions, including stocking shelves or helping other departments as needed. This dynamic role suits individuals who enjoy engaging with people, problem-solving in a fast-paced environment, and contributing to overall store operations.

Lowe's values its associates, providing many opportunities for personal and professional growth. Whether you are seeking a part-time role or long-term career advancement, Lowe's supports your development with flexible schedules, competitive pay, and a variety of benefits. Associates gain access to multiple health insurance plans, a tuition assistance program to further education, a company-matching 401(k) plan for financial security, and an employee stock purchase program. Additionally, Lowe's offers a 10% associate discount, helping employees save on their own home improvement projects, as well as the Track to the Trades program to develop new trade skills. This supportive work environment encourages learning, development, and career progression.

The role requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods, basic arithmetic skills, computer proficiency for operating registers, and the ability to lift weights up to 10 pounds unassisted or 15 pounds with accommodation. Certification or registration may be required depending on state laws. Preference is given to candidates with retail or customer service experience and bilingual capabilities, reflecting Lowe's commitment to diversity and inclusive hiring, especially encouraging bilingual, military, and veteran talent to apply. Exposure to varying climatic conditions at store locations and occasional travel for meetings or training sessions is possible.

By joining Lowe's as a cashier, you join a company with a strong legacy in retail and community engagement, backed by solid financial performance and a culture of equity and inclusion. Your work helps create positive customer experiences and supports the broader goals of serving and strengthening communities across the country.
