The role described is a frontline position at BJ's Wholesale Club, primarily focused on delivering excellent member service by processing member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner. This includes verifying, renewing, upgrading, and offering various membership products, scanning merchandise efficiently, and accepting multiple forms of payment. The position requires individuals to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the frontline department, support club policies, procedures, and compliance, and help create a safe and positive environment for both members and colleagues. Team members in this role are expected to exhibit honesty, integrity, and a member-first attitude, addressing and escalating concerns appropriately. The job emphasizes teamwork, speed and agility, adaptability, and maintaining a positive attitude when engaging with members. Employees will adhere to BJ’s GOLD Member Standards such as greeting members warmly, anticipating their needs, showing appreciation, and ensuring the club looks fast, friendly, full, fresh, and clean. In addition, team members will be responsible for stocking items, executing promotional plans, maintaining accurate signage, and understanding how their department’s performance impacts the overall business. The pay range for this position starts at $16.50. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to stand and move frequently on hard surfaces
  • Ability to bend, handle, pull, reach, and stoop as needed
  • Capacity to lift objects up to 30 pounds frequently
  • Willingness to work indoors in conditions with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises
  • Ability to support club policies and deliver excellent member service
  • Regular, predictable full attendance

Job Qualifications

  • Basic math skills preferred
  • Prior cashier or sales experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Process member purchases including verifying, renewing, upgrading, and offering membership products
  • Scan merchandise and ensure accurate transaction totals
  • Accept various forms of payment including cash, check, and charge payments
  • Provide excellent member service in a timely and friendly manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the frontline department
  • Assist members at self-checkout stations and manage scan and pan lanes
  • Support and uphold club policies, procedures, and compliance
  • Contribute to stocking items and executing promotional plans
  • Address and escalate member concerns professionally
  • Meet cashier productivity expectations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned including working in other departments if needed
  • Ensure regular, predictable full attendance
