Job Description
Lowe's Companies, Inc. is a leading Fortune 100 home improvement retailer, dedicated to serving millions of customers through its extensive network of over 1,750 stores, 540 branches, and 120 distribution centers across the United States. Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, Lowe's has built a reputation for offering quality products and exceptional customer service that helps homeowners, professional contractors, and DIY enthusiasts improve their homes and communities. With fiscal 2025 sales surpassing $86 billion and a workforce of approximately 300,000 associates, Lowe's continues to invest heavily in its associates and the communities it serves, through initiatives focused on affordable housing, community enhancement, skilled trade development, and disaster relief. Lowe's also commits to creating an inclusive work environment by promoting equal opportunity and actively encouraging military, veteran, bilingual, and diverse talent to join its team.
As a Lowe's cashier, you play a vital role in shaping the customer experience by delivering a fast, friendly, and professional checkout process. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy dynamic, customer-facing roles in a fast-paced retail environment. In this role, you ensure that customers leave the store satisfied by accurately scanning, bagging, and processing purchases, responding to customer inquiries, and facilitating smooth payment transactions including handling exchanges. While the primary function is to manage the cash register and assist customers at the point of sale, responsibilities may extend to supporting other store departments, replenishing inventory on shelves, or maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the work area.
Lowe's values the well-being and growth of its employees. This role offers competitive pay with a starting wage of $20.77 per hour, flexible scheduling options suitable for part-time or full-time availability, and numerous opportunities for professional development. Associates have access to comprehensive benefits including multiple health insurance plans, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, and tuition assistance to pursue educational goals. Lowe's also provides unique perks such as an employee stock purchase program, a 10% associate discount on products, and specialized training paths through programs like Track to the Trades, designed to enhance trade skills.
Working at Lowe’s means joining a company that not only prioritizes customer satisfaction but also values the growth and well-being of its employees. The cashier role offers an excellent pathway for individuals seeking a rewarding retail career with the potential for advancement and the support of a globally recognized brand. Associates benefit from a supportive work environment that encourages teamwork, personal development, and work-life balance. Additionally, Lowe's dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion creates a welcoming workplace for all employees regardless of background or experience.
This position does not require regular travel, but occasional trips may be necessary for training sessions or to support operations at neighboring locations. Work environments can vary between indoors and outdoors with exposure to different weather conditions, and proper safety training is provided for handling heavy lifting tasks and equipment usage. This role is perfect for those who like to engage with people, thrive in a fast-moving retail setting, and are interested in developing new skills while contributing to a well-established leader in the home improvement industry. Joining Lowe’s as a cashier means becoming part of a team dedicated to enhancing the shopping experience and positively impacting communities across the nation.
