Job Description

Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW) is a leading Fortune 100 home improvement company that serves approximately 16 million customer transactions each week. With total fiscal year 2025 sales exceeding $86 billion, Lowe's operates more than 1,700 home improvement stores, along with 530 branches and 130 distribution centers across the United States. Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, Lowe's is committed not only to retail excellence but also to supporting the communities it serves. The company invests in programs focused on creating safe and affordable housing, improving community spaces, developing the next generation of skilled trade experts, and providing disaster relief. These initiatives highlight Lowe's dedication to social responsibility and community development, making it an employer that values both customer satisfaction and community impact.

As a cashier at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in ensuring every customer leaves the store satisfied and valued. This position is centered around delivering a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience that enhances the overall customer journey. Your responsibilities will include managing cash registers, processing payments and exchanges accurately, scanning and bagging items efficiently, and proactively assisting customers in the self-checkout area. Beyond registering purchases, you may be called upon to support other store departments, stock shelves, or manage carts, creating a dynamic and interactive work environment.

Lowe's offers a supportive workplace environment that caters to both part-time employees and those looking for a long-term career path. Employees benefit from competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and an array of access to top-tier health insurance plans. The company also emphasizes personal and professional growth by providing educational opportunities through its tuition assistance program and trade skills training via the Track to the Trades program. Benefits such as a company-matching 401(k), an optional Employee Stock Purchase Program, and a 10% Associate Discount further empower employees to invest in their own futures while enjoying immediate perks.

Working at Lowe's also means being part of a diverse and inclusive team culture. The company strongly encourages applications from bilingual candidates, military personnel, veterans, and those who align with its commitment to equality and teamwork. There is occasional travel for training and support of neighboring stores but no regular travel requirements. The working conditions can vary by location, with exposure to various weather elements and physical tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds with appropriate training and support.

This cashier role at Lowe's is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and who enjoy problem-solving and helping customers find the best value for their purchases. Through your direct interactions with customers, you contribute significantly to the positive reputation of Lowe's and help maintain its status as a trusted leader in the home improvement retail industry.
