The role offered is that of a Cashier at retail locations, reporting to direct supervision. This position involves greeting incoming customers in a pleasant and professional manner, processing the payments of customer purchases, handling cash and other payment methods using a cash register, and providing exemplary customer service. The Cashier is responsible for verifying monetary amounts, issuing receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers while maintaining cordial communication and ensuring the smooth flow of transactions.
In addition to customer interaction, the Cashier supports store operations by assisting in pricing and stocking inventory, preparing and maintaining displays, and contributing to the quality of the store's presentation. They are involved in annual physical inventory activities and adhere strictly to safety procedures to prevent injury. The work environment includes both typical indoor office settings and outdoor locations with varying temperature and weather conditions. Physical demands include frequent lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 80 pounds.
This entry-level position requires a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and at least six months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate possesses strong customer service skills, sound knowledge of cash register operations, good mathematical aptitude, and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
