Job Description
This job opening is with a popular and fast-paced restaurant located within a local casino in Henderson. Known for its friendly environment and commitment to exemplary guest service, this establishment prioritizes delivering a memorable dining experience for every customer. The restaurant is a bustling hub where team collaboration and guest satisfaction are key, offering a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and staff. As a full-time position paying from $12.00 per hour, candidates will join a vibrant team dedicated to maintaining high standards of hospitality and operational excellence.
The role of the Restaurant Cashier/Hostess is integral to the frontline guest experience, acting as the primary point of contact for diners upon their arrival and also as the final interaction when they leave. This position demands attentive customer service skills, as it involves greeting guests with warmth, managing seating arrangements efficiently, and ensuring that patrons feel valued throughout their visit. The Cashier/Hostess must be engaging, friendly, and naturally attentive, demonstrating genuine interest in guests by maintaining eye contact and smiling. They often work alongside other host staff during busier periods to smoothly coordinate guest seating and manage the flow of customers.
Beyond greeting and seating guests, this role includes responsibilities such as providing accurate wait time estimates during busy times, maintaining a clean and organized front-of-house, and actively assisting with both opening and closing side work. The Cashier/Hostess is also expected to have knowledge of the food and beverage menu including daily specials, which helps in answering guest inquiries and improving overall service quality. Additionally, the role involves handling reservations for larger parties by phone and facilitating take-out orders, which requires organization and multitasking capabilities.
A key operational aspect is managing guest checkouts efficiently using a computerized food and beverage system that processes payments via player point accounts, credit cards, and cash. This requires accuracy and attentiveness to detail to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth financial transactions. The restaurant values a cashier/hostess who ensures an even distribution of seating responsibilities among the waitstaff by rotating guest seating between different areas. This cooperative approach helps maintain balanced workloads and promotes staff cohesion.
Overall, this position offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity for individuals who thrive in busy hospitality environments and enjoy engaging directly with guests. It promises steady full-time hours accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, an employee assistance program, and 401(k) benefits. Candidates should be prepared to work in person at the restaurant location and embrace a role that blends excellent guest service with operational efficiency.
