The role of Cashier / Host at Golden Corral is pivotal as it represents the first and last point of contact for guests entering and leaving the restaurant. This position is essential in shaping a lasting impression through warm greetings, courteous assistance, and accurate transaction handling. The Cashier / Host is responsible for managing guest interactions, ensuring cleanliness and organization in their work area, and supporting buffet accuracy and presentation. They must be knowledgeable about the menu offerings and pricing to provide comprehensive information and to assist guests effectively. The role demands excellent communication skills, multitasking capabilities, and a friendly demeanor to foster repeat visits and positive guest experiences. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in customer service or cashier roles is advantageous

  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety standards in food service
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor

Job Duties

  • Greets guests as they enter the restaurant and offers a sincere, personal invitation to return as the guests leave
  • Offers assistance to any guests who may need help
  • Processes Golden Corral On the Go To-Go orders
  • Friendly and courteous on the phone
  • Handles payments accurately
  • Knows and follows position responsibilities as they relate to just-in-time delivery
  • Knows what is on buffet for the day and has a full knowledge of menu and prices
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness at the vestibule, host/cashier station and surrounding areas
  • May help ensure the buffet is set up properly and labels are correct
  • Cleans all buffets and surrounding areas
  • Follows local health department laws
  • Performs duty roster and ensures cleanliness, service, and quality standards are met
  • Informs the Manager when the money in the drawer needs to be taken to the safe to reduce the risk of robbery
  • Ensures drawer balances with daily paperwork
