The Cashier role at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital in Katy, TX, is a full-time position with a flexible schedule that may include varying days and hours including weekends. The pay range for this position is $15.00 to $16.00 per hour. This role is critical to ensuring smooth sales transactions within the hospital’s dining facilities, involving accurate cash handling and customer service duties. The Cashier is responsible for processing payments, verifying cash drawers, handling cash reports, and maintaining strict compliance with sanitation and safety standards as required by ServSafe and company policies. Beyond managing transactions, the role supports the overall dining experience by replenishing supplies, stocking pastry cases, and maintaining clean service areas, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and the operational success of the food service team. Job Duties

  • perform sales transactions in a timely fashion
  • enter all sales into the cash register to ensure accurate purchase recording
  • make change, accept declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment
  • issue receipts to customers
  • follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds
  • interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • be responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring cash drawer compliance
  • observe customer purchases in the cafe line and differentiate between standard portions
  • replenish condiments, coffee, beverages and supplies while maintaining cleanliness
  • keep pastry case stocked
  • ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory and cash control procedures
  • ensure compliance with sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements
  • perform other duties as assigned
