The role of a Cashier at JCPenney is pivotal in ensuring excellent customer service and a seamless sales experience. The position is hourly, offering a competitive pay range between USD 15.00 to USD 18.75 per hour. They promote sales-driving initiatives like the Findmore program and ensure adherence to checkout processes including returns and re-ticketing. They support merchandising efforts by stocking impulse fixtures and replenishing inventory at the point of sale. In addition, they contribute toward general operational activities including fitting room maintenance and annual inventory counts.
The position requires individuals who demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, can make decisions that enhance sales, profit, and customer service, and foster positive relationships within the workplace. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or cashier experience preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Basic math skills
- Ability to operate point of sale equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
