The Guest Service Representative position at Sycuan offers the opportunity to be on the front lines of delivering an exceptional guest experience in one of the tribe's food service venues. This role is crucial in maintaining the welcoming atmosphere that Sycuan is known for. The representative greets guests as they arrive, operates a point-of-sale (POS) system, and ensures smooth, accurate transactions with cash, credit cards, VIP points, vouchers, and discounts while adhering to established procedures. Key responsibilities also include upholding responsible alcohol beverage service policies to ensure guest safety and compliance, possessing detailed knowledge of menu items, promotions, and current events, and providing courteous, friendly service that enhances the overall guest experience. This position requires physical endurance for standing and walking up to eight hours, the ability to handle U.S. currency adeptly, strong communication skills, and the capability to maintain professionalism in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Additional important traits include being punctual, able to follow verbal and written instructions, and able to work in environments where smoking may occur. Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 months cash handling experience
- County of San Diego Food Handler Card
- California ABC Responsible Beverage Service Certification
- Ability to stand and walk up to eight hours
- Ability to count currency and make change accurately
- Ability to appear for work on time
- Ability to work in a smoking environment
- Ability to communicate in English
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, push, and pull
- Ability to recognize counterfeit money
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, certificate of completion, or GED preferred
- Experience in guest or hospitality service preferred
- Concession or food server experience desirable
- Casino experience advantageous
- Ability to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to perform simple math calculations
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
Job Duties
- Provide service excellence by greeting guests and promptly entering orders into the POS system
- Collect and process payments including cash, credit cards, vouchers, and VIP points
- Ensure responsible alcohol beverage service by checking identification, monitoring consumption, and stopping service at designated times
- Promote guest relations with menu knowledge, pricing, promotions, and courteous interaction
- Account for transactions by balancing cash drawers and reporting discrepancies
- Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in concession areas
- Perform additional duties as needed to support efficient operation
