The cashier position at Firehouse Subs is a vital role integral to the restaurant's daily operations and success. Reporting directly to the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or Shift Leader, the cashier serves as the initial point of contact after the guest is welcomed into the restaurant, making this role key to creating a positive first impression. This guest-facing position demands excellent communication skills, menu and product knowledge, and a commitment to accuracy and professionalism. The cashier is responsible for handling guest transactions using the POS system, ensuring order correctness, maintaining an accurate cash drawer, and providing a sincere thank you to each guest. Beyond these duties, the cashier also participates actively in Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation fundraising initiatives, embodying the brand's commitment to community and public safety.
In addition to guest service and transaction management, the cashier maintains an organized, stocked, and sanitary workspace, complies with all food and safety guidelines, and contributes to the overall cleanliness and functionality of the restaurant. The role requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, respond professionally to guest questions and concerns, and perform other restaurant tasks such as food preparation or cleaning as directed by management. Physical demands include the capability to lift up to 50 pounds. This position offers a dynamic work environment where teamwork and customer satisfaction are prioritized.
