The role requires proactive communication and collaboration with team members to maintain efficient checkout lines and support store operations. Utilizing modern technology like the Mobile Warrior device for line management is part of the cashier duties, helping to ensure smooth and timely customer service.
Beyond customer interaction, Cashiers at JCPenney support omnichannel efforts, assist with the recovery and maintenance of fitting rooms, and participate in annual inventory procedures. They are expected to contribute to company-wide safety initiatives and help minimize shrink through diligent performance. Success in this role is measured by meeting established standards within the company's iCAP program, which includes goals related to product and service sales, customer service excellence, profitability, productivity, and regular attendance.

- Ability to use point-of-sale technology
- Strong communication skills
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
