Job Description
Torchy's Tacos is a renowned restaurant brand that began its journey in Austin, Texas in 2006. What started as a small food trailer with a visionary idea and a committed executive chef has blossomed into a nationwide chain of vibrant and beloved restaurants. Known for its unique and flavorful taco offerings, Torchy's has developed a strong reputation for quality food and outstanding hospitality. The culture at Torchy's emphasizes a fun, energetic atmosphere where employees are empowered to provide exceptional service and create memorable experiences for every guest.
Torchy's operates as a fast-casual dining restaurant specializing in tacos and related menu items that fuse bold flavors with a welcoming environment. Their mission revolves around delivering not only tasty meals but also ensuring guests feel appreciated and taken care of from the moment they enter the restaurant until their departure. The company is committed to supporting its team members and fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and opportunity for growth.
This particular role is for a Cashier/Runner position, which plays a vital part in Torchy's Hospitality Team. The position is responsible for delivering a smile and a welcoming spirit to every guest interaction. More than just taking orders and running food, Cashier/Runners embody the heart and soul of the restaurant's guest experience. They greet guests warmly, listen attentively to their needs, provide knowledgeable menu recommendations, and ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and promptly. This blend of roles requires someone who is outgoing, attentive, quick on their feet, and embraces teamwork to contribute to a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.
The role includes key responsibilities such as managing point-of-sale transactions efficiently, providing personalized hospitality, maintaining knowledge of the menu and promotions, running food quickly to tables, and keeping guest-facing areas clean and inviting. Cashier/Runners also work closely with kitchen staff and management to resolve any issues and ensure consistent guest satisfaction. This is an entry-level, hourly position offering competitive pay between $11.00 and $13.00 per hour depending on experience, with tip sharing on top of the hourly wage.
Torchy's offers flexible scheduling options to accommodate various lifestyles. Beyond hourly wages, they provide valuable benefits for full-time team members, including medical, dental, and vision insurance after one year, as well as a 401(k) plan available after six months. Paid time off is granted after one year of employment, and team members enjoy discounts on food for themselves and their spouses. In times of personal need, Torchy's Family Foundation offers support to employees, demonstrating the company’s commitment to its workforce. This makes the Cashier/Runner role an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy customer service, value working in a collaborative and dynamic environment, and want to be part of a growing and well-respected restaurant brand.
