Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the check lane
- Handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and work to control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items including alcohol, tobacco and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Stay current with seasonal and special advertisements
- Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines
- Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
- Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
