The Store Team Member role at Michaels Monona, WI location is a dynamic position centered around delivering an exceptional customer experience while supporting the operational functions of the retail store. This role involves engaging with customers to assist them in shopping and locating products, while ensuring they receive fast and friendly checkout services. Additionally, members in this role participate in merchandise management, including truck unloading, stocking, planogram execution, and maintaining store recovery standards to uphold the company’s Brand Promises.

The position also entails promoting Michaels' Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards, educating customers about the Voice of Customer survey, and assisting with omnichannel processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). Team Members support shrink and safety programs, adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures, and represent the company’s vision and values positively. Cross-training opportunities exist, such as in Custom Framing selling and production, enhancing skill development within the company.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years old
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods
  • Ability to move throughout the store
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes and use ladders as needed
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and early mornings
  • Ability to perform duties in a public retail store environment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions
  • Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience
  • Execute cash handling to standards
  • Engage customers on the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments
  • Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
  • Participate in the truck unload, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes
  • Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance including the merchandise return/go back process and general store recovery
  • Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned
  • Support shrink and safety programs
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance
  • Interact positively with others and promote company values
  • Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production
  • Other duties as assigned
