Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
previous cashier or customer service experience preferred
ability to stand for long periods
ability to lift up to 20 pounds
reliable transportation to work
availability to work flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, weekends and holidays
bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

Politely greet customers with a smile and provide excellent customer service
promptly scan products or weigh produce being purchased
operate cash register accurately and efficiently accepting all forms of payment and provide correct change
maintain cash drawer with sufficient currency and coins
count out cash drawer at the beginning and end of a shift
conduct price checks when necessary
place items in bags for customers and assist with loading into shopping cart
return discarded items back to shelves when necessary
keep the conveyor belt, scanner, scale and counter clean
assist with keeping the front of the store clean, organized, and free from safety hazards
straighten out displays and shelves of merchandise when requested or scheduled
attend and participate in store or department meetings
maintain punctuality and good attendance in compliance with company policies
perform other work-related duties as required
serve as bagger or facing clerk when necessary
add or change paper in registers, printer, adding machine or other office equipment
report any equipment malfunctions to manager on duty
gather shopping carts from front of store and parking lot when needed
assist manager on duty in other departments when needed
