The Cashier is responsible for accurately handling cash and credit card transactions, greeting guests warmly, and ensuring all orders are processed with precision. This role requires a strong working knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, sanitation, and point-of-sale (POS) systems. The Cashier must be able to recognize counterfeit money, comply with age verification for alcoholic beverages, and consistently deliver customer-focused service.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Prior experience related to cashier or food service positions
- Valid ServSafe or other approved Food Handler Certification
- High level of integrity and honesty
- Must be of legal age according to State regulations to serve alcohol
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures as directed by the Restaurant Manager
- Ability to be aware of and follow company policies and procedures related to job safety
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and 1-2 years related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
- Prior experience in related cashier or food service positions
- Valid ServSafe or other approved Food Handler Certification
- High level of integrity and honesty
Job Duties
- Greet guests, receive food orders, repeat food orders, charge the appropriate price for each menu item ordered by guests, receive the correct amount tendered by guests and provide the correct change for each transaction
- Be able to enact gift cards requested by guests
- Be very familiar with and up to date with California Fish Grill Restaurant's menu and prices
- Interact with guests in a friendly/fast manner
- Ability to make corrections to guest orders in a fast and efficient manner
- Ability to determine counterfeit money and respond to situations involving counterfeit money
- Assure age requirements are verified prior to serving alcoholic beverages
