The role of Cashier at Sodexo is an integral part of the retail operation within various locations. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for accurately handling cash and credit transactions, providing excellent customer service, and supporting daily retail activities including setup, maintaining supplies, and assisting with cleanup and closing duties. This is a part-time position that primarily involves morning shifts on varying days. Compensation ranges from $10.00 to $18.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role and the responsibilities it entails.

This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced retail environment. The Cashier will operate the cash register or point of sale (POS) system to process payments, issue receipts, and handle various forms of transactions securely. Additionally, the role requires physical stamina, including the ability to walk or stand for extended periods, and to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • Must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol if applicable based on local regulations
  • Valid TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent certification may be required depending on location
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Punctual and reliable attendance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 year related experience
  • If alcohol is served at the location, must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol based on local city and state regulations
  • Depending on the location, may require a valid TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures), TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management), or equivalent alcohol-service certification
  • Must comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements

Job Duties

  • Operates a cash register or equivalent, receives payments of cash, checks, and charges from customers or employees for goods or services, making change and issuing receipts or tickets to customers
  • Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times
  • Maintains proper security of cash at all times
  • Significant walking or other means of mobility
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
  • Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements
