Located at Doane University in Crete, NE, Fresh Ideas is currently hiring full-time Cashiers to join their team. The position offers a competitive pay range of $16.00 to $17.50 per hour and follows a schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 2:45 PM, with some flexibility in hours. This role is integral to the daily operations at Fresh Ideas, involving not only cashier duties but also general food service work to ensure a seamless dining experience.
As a Cashier at Fresh Ideas, you will be responsible for handling cash transactions, verifying cash drawers, counting cash receipts, and completing reports accurately. Beyond financial responsibilities, you will interact directly with customers, ensuring a welcoming and service-oriented environment while resolving any complaints promptly and courteously. Maintaining sanitation standards in all preparation, service, and dining areas is a crucial part of your role, alongside supporting the replenishment of supplies and keeping food displays well-stocked.

Job Requirements
- prior cashier and customer service experience
- ability to work full time Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 2:45 PM with some schedule flexibility
- able to maintain sanitation and safety standards
- strong customer service orientation
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform cash counting and reconciliation
- willingness to follow company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- performs sales transactions in a timely fashion
- enters all sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded
- makes change, accepts declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment
- issues receipts to customers
- follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds
- interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage/shortage standards
- observes customer purchases in the cafe line and differentiates between standard portions
- replenishes condiments, coffee, other beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service areas
- keeps pastry case stocked
- ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures
- ensures compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements
- performs other duties as assigned
