Job Description
The hiring establishment operates within the retail sector, focusing on delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining high operational standards. This company is committed to creating a welcoming, safe, and clean environment for both customers and employees, in accordance with corporate policies and local regulations. Their retail stores are designed to provide a variety of products and services, including food items, fuel, and convenience merchandise, serving a broad community base. With a focus on both employee safety and superior service, the company fosters a team-oriented workplace where every individual contributes to the overall success and positive atmosphere of the store.
The role offered is that of a Retail Associate, reporting directly to the Store Manager and classified as a full-time, non-managerial position. It is an hourly compensated opportunity requiring an individual who excels in multitasking and delivering top-tier customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of duties designed to ensure smooth store operations—from cash handling and food preparation to maintaining cleanliness and stocking shelves. This position emphasizes accuracy in point-of-sale transactions, adherence to safety and legal standards, and participation in promotional campaigns. The Retail Associate will be comfortable working collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative in keeping the store secure, organized, and inviting.
Primary responsibilities include operating the cash register and fuel console to accurately manage all payment transactions, handling sensitive products like alcohol and tobacco in compliance with company policy, and engaging actively in suggestive selling to enhance customer relations and meet sales targets. The associate will also contribute to maintaining the store’s cleanliness both inside and outside, including cleaning floors, restocking supplies, and performing regular inspections of perishable products for freshness and proper rotation. Additional tasks include preparing hot food items according to established procedures, managing vendor deliveries, and ensuring safety protocols are rigorously followed, including robbery and violence prevention policies.
This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in POS systems, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Given the dynamic retail environment, the associate must be physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive movements such as bending, reaching, and stooping. Open availability across various shifts and locations within the district is essential to meet operational demands. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a Food Handler’s Permit if required by the store or local authorities.
Overall, this position offers the opportunity to be part of a reputable retail team that values safety, quality service, and professional growth. With employer-paid medical and life insurance options, dental and vision coverage, medical assistance, and a 401(k) plan, the company also provides a comprehensive benefits package to support the well-being and future of its employees.
