Job Description
G&M is a well-established retail company dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and a welcoming shopping environment for all customers. This company operates various retail stores that focus on convenience and quality, aiming to meet the diverse needs of its clientele. G&M prides itself on maintaining a friendly, safe, and clean atmosphere for both customers and employees, adhering strictly to corporate standards and management guidelines.
The position available is a full-time retail associate who reports directly to the Store Manager. This role is vital to the smooth operation of the store and involves a range of responsibilities designed to enhance the customer experience while maintaining store standards. The retail associate will be expected to multitask efficiently, work collaboratively as part of a team, and uphold all safety and cleanliness protocols.
In this role, the associate will be responsible for a variety of duties, including the accurate operation of point-of-sale systems, handling cash and other payment methods, and conducting sales transactions quickly and accurately. They will manage product deliveries, stock shelves, and ensure the store layout is attractive and well-maintained. The associate will also participate actively in sales promotions, practicing suggestive selling techniques to build strong customer relations and help achieve sales goals.
The role requires adherence to all relevant laws and company policies related to store operations, including checking identification for restricted products such as alcohol, tobacco, and lottery tickets. Associates will also help maintain order and cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms, food service areas, and fuel delivery zones. This position sometimes includes preparing food items and brewing coffee, requiring careful attention to food safety and quality standards.
This job demands physical stamina, as it involves standing or walking for entire shifts and handling merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and push or pull objects is essential. The environment is fast-paced and customer-oriented, requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
This hourly, non-managerial role demands flexibility in scheduling, including availability to work various shifts at the home store and other locations within the district as needed. G&M supports its employees by offering comprehensive benefits such as fully employer-paid medical and life insurance options, dental and vision plans, medical assistance, and a 401(k) retirement plan. These benefits demonstrate the company’s commitment to supporting the well-being and financial security of its staff.
Overall, this position offers a rewarding opportunity for individuals who thrive in a dynamic retail environment and who are committed to delivering outstanding service while maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness. G&M values dedication, teamwork, and a positive attitude, making this an ideal role for someone looking to grow their career in retail within a supportive corporate structure.
