The role of the Head Cashier is pivotal within our customer service framework. This leadership position focuses on maintaining the front-end operations by supporting and supervising cashier activities with a strong emphasis on accuracy, speed, and safety. The Head Cashier not only processes transactions but also oversees and guides cashiers in managing returns, price checks, markdown approvals, and handling escalated customer concerns. Furthermore, they actively engage in training and coaching to develop the skills of new and existing cashiers, ensuring all team members are well-prepared to offer exceptional service. This position requires a combination of strong leadership capabilities, in-depth knowledge of checkout procedures, and excellent interpersonal skills to manage both customers and staff effectively. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year of experience as a cashier
  • basic computer and POS system proficiency
  • ability to stand for extended periods

  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • provide fast friendly accurate and safe customer service
  • process checkout and return transactions
  • monitor and maintain the self-checkout area
  • seek product and project knowledge to inform customers and identify sales opportunities
  • follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink
  • position cashiers and support them by expediting price checks
  • approve point of sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers self-checkout returns pro desk special services and tool rental
  • provide first level escalation for customer issues
  • assist in the supervision coaching and training of front end associates participate in the training of new cashiers and use available tools to coach and develop cashiers
