The Head Cashier role is a pivotal position within our Front End team, requiring a professional with strong leadership capabilities and an understanding of retail checkout processes. This role is not only about processing transactions swiftly and accurately but also about supporting the team of Cashiers by resolving issues, authorizing price adjustments, and promoting a positive customer experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple registers, including the mainline, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental areas. They will act as a first point of escalation for customer concerns and play an essential role in supervising, coaching, and training new and existing Front End Associates. This role demands excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain composure in a busy retail setting.

In addition to transactional responsibilities, the Head Cashier is expected to have comprehensive product knowledge to proactively assist customers and identify potential upselling opportunities. Ensuring compliance with company shrink minimization policies is also a critical part of the job. Candidates should possess at least one year of experience as a Cashier, equipping them with the skills necessary to lead by example and foster a collaborative environment where all team members can thrive. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • process checkout transactions efficiently and accurately
  • monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area
  • provide friendly and courteous service to customers
  • position and support Cashiers during busy periods
  • expedite price checks and approve Point of Sale transactions
  • provide first level escalation for customer issues
  • participate in the coaching and training of new and existing Cashiers
