We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Cashier to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our customers receive fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service at checkout points. The Head Cashier is responsible not only for processing transactions but also for overseeing and supporting other Cashiers by managing price checks, approving various Point of Sale transactions, and handling markdowns across multiple service areas such as mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. The position entails a blend of hands-on customer interaction and frontline supervisory responsibilities, serving as the first level of escalation for customer issues. Additionally, the Head Cashier plays an important role in coaching, training, and developing other Front End Associates, contributing to a knowledgeable and efficient team. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with over one year of cashiering experience who are looking to advance their career in retail management and customer service excellence.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of cashier experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures
  • Reliable and punctual

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year cashier experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Leadership and supervisory capabilities
  • Proactive approach to learning product and project knowledge
  • Competent in POS systems and related technology
  • Ability to manage and resolve customer escalations calmly and effectively

Job Duties

  • Process checkout and return transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation
  • Position and support Cashiers by managing price checks and approving Point of Sale transactions
  • Oversee markdowns across mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental
  • Provide first level escalation for customer issues and resolve concerns promptly
  • Assist in the supervision, coaching, and training of Front End Associates
  • Participate in training new Cashiers and utilize available tools to develop and mentor staff
