As a full-time or part-time Cashier at Total Wine & More, you will play a vital role in shaping the customer service experience. Referred to internally as a Front End Team Member, you will report directly to the store management team and become a key ambassador for the brand. This role goes beyond processing sales transactions to delivering personalized service that leaves customers feeling valued and eager to return. Your responsibilities will include handling various payment methods accurately, verifying customer identification, answering inquiries, and promoting the company’s loyalty program to enhance customer engagement. You will also be involved in bagging products and supporting the overall flow of the front end.
Aside from cashier duties, you may be tasked with additional roles such as sales associate or merchandiser/stock associate, depending on business needs. Total Wine & More places a strong emphasis on product knowledge, offering training in wine, spirits, and beer to ensure team members can confidently provide insights and recommendations to customers. Your daily tasks will also involve maintaining up-to-date knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs. Additionally, you will uphold safety and cleanliness standards throughout the store and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, particularly those related to the sale of alcohol.
This role requires a flexible schedule to accommodate evenings, weekends, and seasonal demands, with the ability to work either full-time or part-time. Physical requirements of the job include being on your feet for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and occasionally working in different weather conditions. Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
- Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hours a day
- Ability to bend, lift, and handle cases and pallets safely
- Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs overhead repeatedly
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions
- Passion for providing excellent customer service
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years of work experience preferred
- 1+ years in a retail setting preferred
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to engage customers and build relationships

- Ability to learn product details and promotions quickly
