The role of Cashier, also known internally as Front End Team Member, is vital in shaping the customer's shopping experience at Total Wine & More. This position is generally offered as either part-time or full-time and offers an hourly wage ranging from $19.08 to $22.90. The Cashier's primary responsibilities include efficiently processing transactions, verifying identification, handling payments securely, and supporting the promotion of loyalty programs. Besides the cashier duties, the role may expand to cover responsibilities such as sales associate tasks or merchandising and stocking shelves to maintain the store's appearance and product availability.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-3 years of work experience with 1+ years in retail preferred
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours a day walk bend repeatedly
  • Ability to safely lift load and handle cases pallets
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift 50 lbs overhead repeatedly
  • Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions

Job Duties

  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently including identification verification payment handling answering inquiries promoting loyalty program and bagging product
  • Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers engaging to build relationships and informing about products and services
  • Participate in wine spirits and beer training to build product knowledge
  • Maintain knowledge of advertisements promotions and loyalty programs
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment
  • Complete cross-functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned
