Job Description

Restaurant Depot is a leading wholesale cash-and-carry foodservice distributor dedicated to serving a diverse customer base that includes independent restaurants, caterers, and not-for-profits. Established as a privately-owned multi-billion-dollar company, Restaurant Depot operates over 150 warehouses and distribution centers across 37 states. Our mission centers on providing our customers with unparalleled savings, an extensive selection of products, and exceptional service every day of the week. As a company committed to supporting the foodservice industry, we pride ourselves on delivering the right products, at competitive prices, and in quantities that meet the unique needs of our clients.

We are seeking dedicated and reliable Cashiers to join our Front End team. This role is available as either full-time or part-time, with hourly shifts typically ranging from 6 to 8 hours. Working under the supervision of the Front End Manager, the Cashier plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of all customer transactions. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in customer service, especially in retail or sales environments, and a solid understanding of cash register operations. This position occasionally requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends to meet business needs.

The primary responsibility of the Cashier is to manage all transactions with customers efficiently and accurately. This includes accepting payments through various methods such as cash, checks, and credit cards, issuing receipts, and keeping meticulous records of transactions. Beyond transaction management, the Cashier is expected to contribute to a positive customer experience by resolving complaints courteously, providing guidance, and offering relevant information about products and services.

Working at Restaurant Depot means being part of a team that values professionalism, dedication, and customer satisfaction. The Cashier is also expected to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, ensuring a welcoming environment for customers. This role involves physical demands such as standing or walking for up to 10 hours a day, frequently lifting and carrying heavy objects, and working in conditions that may include exposure to cold or freezing temperatures, especially given the nature of our foodservice distribution centers.

The work environment includes interaction with equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and scooters, underscoring the need for awareness and safety at all times. In addition to cashier duties, employees may be required to perform other related tasks or work in different departments as necessary, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented mindset.

By joining Restaurant Depot as a Cashier, you become an integral part of a respected company that offers a comprehensive benefits package, including company-paid medical, vision, and dental insurance. Employees also enjoy vacation, sick, and personal paid time off (PTO), along with other union benefits such as an annuity. Our benefits and supportive work environment make Restaurant Depot a great place to develop your career in retail and customer service, contributing to a company that plays a crucial role in the foodservice industry nationwide.
