The role being offered is a full-time Retail Associate position, reporting directly to the Store Manager. This hourly position is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and possess excellent multitasking abilities. The Retail Associate will play a central role in upholding G&M’s high standards by providing outstanding customer service and operating various point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately. The position involves engaging with customers, handling transactions, assisting with merchandise stocking, and maintaining the store's cleanliness and safety. From managing sales transactions including credit cards, coupons, and alcohol sales to preparing hot food items and performing detailed cleaning routines, this role demands a versatile and dependable individual. The Retail Associate will also support promotional activities, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and actively contribute to team-building efforts. Their work environment primarily consists of standing or walking throughout shifts, and the role may require lifting and moving merchandise.

This position is designed for individuals who are keen on delivering excellent service, maintaining an organized workspace, and supporting the overall success of the store. Prospective candidates need to be comfortable operating POS systems like PDI Enterprise, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a solid work ethic.   • have open availability to work all shifts as needed at home store and other stores within district when the need arises

Job Duties

  • take measures to preserve the safety of employees and all others in the work location
  • operate POS (cash register and fuel console) precisely and accurately manage money and other types of payment received for product sold
  • enter all transactions into the register, accept payments and account for all funds
  • conduct sales transactions accurately and quickly
  • perform service transactions in accordance with company policy such as credit card transactions, manufacturer coupon redemption, vendor check-in, alcohol, tobacco and lottery sales, and fast-food sales
  • check identification for alcohol, tobacco, and lottery products according to company policy
  • actively participate in all sales promotions and other campaigns
  • practice suggestive selling and build customer relations
  • review and adhere to all city, county, state, and federal laws affecting store operations
  • maintain a neat personal appearance and wear company uniform and name tag
  • prepare hot food items in accordance with current procedures
  • ensure that the store is free of litter and spills and that all equipment is sanitized and in working condition
  • sweep floors and spot mop as needed
  • wipe down fuel delivery area and pumps
  • ensure restroom is spot checked and restocked
  • perform regular cleaning of counter surfaces, store equipment, trash, floors and other duties assigned by Store Manager
  • front face cooler and Hydrazone as well as dust merchandise
  • clean all station windows, straighten and organize backroom supplies and equipment
  • receive product deliveries from vendors using proper lift techniques
  • stock shelves with new merchandise
  • wipe down counters, food warmers, microwaves and keep trays clean
  • restock merchandise to ensure no holes or sparse shelves
  • inspect perishable products for freshness and proper rotation
  • follow company policy on robbery, violence prevention and safety
  • participate in store sales building, customer service, and team-building activities
  • act as backup cashier during Barista shifts
  • brew fresh coffee regularly and maintain condiment bar
  • clean thoroughly during night shifts
  • prepare for the morning rush by ensuring fresh coffee is brewed and equipment restocked
