The position of Cashier at JCPenney is a vital role centered on delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless sales experience. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for upholding checkout standards, assisting with various operational duties such as Omnichannel support, store recovery, inventory management, and promoting sales and customer loyalty programs. The role requires a proactive approach to managing checkout processes including handling returns and re-ticketing, as well as merchandising and replenishment of impulse fixtures. You will be expected to engage customers enthusiastically, promoting programs like Findmore and assisting with credit, rewards, and gift card inquiries, ensuring customers have a positive and memorable shopping experience.

This role demands adherence to company performance standards related to shrink control, safety initiatives, and attendance. As a Cashier, you will regularly participate in general store operations including recovery, product put-backs, fitting room maintenance, and involvement in annual inventory procedures. Success in this role hinges on demonstrating core competencies such as problem-solving, decision-making that drives sales and profits, effective communication, and fostering inclusive and respectful relationships with customers and colleagues. Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail or cashier role preferred

Job Duties

  • Utilize Point of Sale systems on Mobile Warrior devices for line management
  • Assist with Omnichannel efforts and participate in recovery, put backs, and fitting room maintenance
  • Support annual inventory processes
  • Uphold company shrink control, safety initiatives and meet performance standards including iCAP, sales, productivity, and attendance
