Job Duties

  • Greet customers actively and assist them with their needs
  • process customer transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale
  • handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons following company policies
  • adhere to company cash handling limits and work to control loss
  • enforce guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • report pricing discrepancies promptly to the Scan Coordinator
  • follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • stay informed about current and seasonal promotions and ads
  • comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • enforce safety protocols by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions to management
  • perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report necessary repairs
  • create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products and store offerings
  • comply fully with local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
  • work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
  • manage conflicts reasonably and non-confrontationally
  • act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues efficiently
