Previous experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is a plus

Job Duties

Greet and engage customers actively and positively at the checkout lane
Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
Handle various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policies
Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working to prevent loss honestly and effectively
Follow guidelines for restricted sales items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
Comply with company policies regarding postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
Stay informed about current, future, seasonal, and special advertisements
Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines
Reinforce and comply with safety procedures, report unsafe conditions or accidents to management
Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products and store services
Adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
Act with honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information
Seek assistance when needed to resolve customer or business issues
Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
