The Lead Baker position is a vital part of Aramark's culinary operations, ensuring that food is prepared with precision, safety, and consistency. As a Lead Baker, you will be responsible for cooking and preparing food according to standardized recipes and production guidelines, while adhering strictly to food safety, food handling, and sanitation policies. This role entails the proficient use of various kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, broilers, mixers, and slicers, as well as the safe handling of kitchen tools including knives.

This position also involves leadership responsibilities such as scheduling and assigning daily work tasks to the food service team and overseeing their completion. You will train and guide staff on their job duties, proper food safety, sanitation procedures, and cooking methods, ensuring the team adheres to the high standards set by Aramark and its clients. Additionally, the Lead Baker prepares ingredients through measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items, and uses a variety of cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming. Presentation is also key, as arranging, garnishing, and portioning food according to established guidelines is part of delivering excellent customer experiences.

Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment is crucial in this role. The Lead Baker is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils to comply with food safety regulations. Furthermore, this role requires maintaining excellent customer service and a positive demeanor toward guests, customers, clients, and co-workers alike. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a baker or cook required
  • ability to work independently with limited supervision required
  • required to obtain food safety certification(s)
  • demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • physical ability to perform duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a supervisor in a related role preferred
  • experience as a baker or cook required
  • ability to work independently with limited supervision required
  • proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage

Job Duties
