Aramark Facilities Management is currently hiring a skilled Carpenter to work within the Akron, Ohio market specifically supporting facility maintenance, repair, renovation, and construction projects at Oriana House locations. This is a hands-on skilled trades position aimed at professionals who take pride in quality workmanship, problem-solving abilities, and maintaining safe and functional facilities. The role involves a broad range of commercial carpentry and building maintenance tasks across occupied and operational facilities, emphasizing preventive maintenance and renovation rather than new residential construction.
The carpenter will be part of a multi-trade maintenance team, working independently as well as collaboratively with existing staff to maintain a variety of building types while learning and expanding their skill set. This position typically offers steady year-round employment with consistent hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and includes on-call rotation duties for emergency repairs. The hourly pay ranges from $27.75 to $32.24, reflecting the company’s commitment to fair and competitive compensation.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous carpentry or facilities maintenance experience
- ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling
- strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- valid driver's license may be required
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- good communication skills
- reliable attendance
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a carpenter, maintenance carpenter, facilities carpenter, remodel technician, or construction maintenance technician required
- experience with commercial carpentry and general building repairs
- strong knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, and tools
- ability to read measurements, blueprints, and technical drawings
- experience operating hand and power tools safely
- ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance priorities
- strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- reliable attendance and professional communication skills
- valid driver's license may be required
Job Duties
- Perform rough and finish carpentry work
- repair doors, frames, walls, ceilings, flooring, and fixtures
- install drywall, trim, cabinetry, shelving, and hardware
- complete painting, patching, framing, and general building repairs
- support remodeling and renovation projects
- read blueprints, sketches, and maintenance work orders
- repair and install commercial building materials and finishes
- operate hand tools, power tools, saws, drills, and construction equipment safely
- assist with preventative maintenance and facility improvement projects
- identify structural or safety concerns and recommend corrective action
- maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- support emergency repair needs when required
