Job Description
This job opening is for a Carhop position at a reputable restaurant establishment. The Carhop role is essential in providing exceptional customer service by serving food products directly to guests. The company prides itself on maintaining high operational, quality, and appearance standards for all products served to ensure customer satisfaction. As a Carhop, the individual plays a crucial role in delivering products efficiently while balancing trays that can weigh up to 25 pounds and ensuring all customer requests are handled promptly and politely.
Working closely with the Manager on Duty (MOD), the Carhop is responsible for maintaining the overall guest experience through friendly interaction and attentive service. This role is classified as nonexempt, typically involving irregular work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, making it perfect for candidates who thrive in dynamic and sometimes varying schedules.
The Carhop not only serves food but also assists guests with payment processing, including making accurate change swiftly and efficiently. Additionally, the role involves clearing trays and trash from different areas such as guests' vehicles, patios, drive-thru lanes, and parking lots to ensure the environment remains clean and welcoming. Maintaining cleanliness also includes regular sanitation duties such as trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping down counters, sanitizing food prep areas, and cleaning equipment like grease traps — all of which are integral to operational standards and hygiene compliance within the restaurant.
For those applying for the Skating Carhop variant of this position, additional duties include moving and stocking food products weighing up to 50 pounds, performing tasks while on roller skates, completing all required Skating Carhop training, and demonstrating agility and safety during service. This allows an exciting and active work environment suitable for highly energetic and skilled team members.
In this fast-paced setting, the Carhop must have strong multitasking capabilities, customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The work environment involves continuous physical activity such as standing, bending, reaching, moving, stooping, stretching, and lifting. Carhops also frequently encounter heat, hot liquids during cooking processes, cold conditions in freezers, and occasionally extreme weather conditions when working outdoors.
Overall, this Carhop position offers a great opportunity for individuals looking to thrive in a lively restaurant atmosphere with a company that values quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The role allows for personal interaction with guests, teamwork, and skill development in food service and customer care, contributing to the company's positive reputation and operational success.
