Job Description

The hiring organization is a customer-focused dining establishment known for its unique carhop service, a throwback to classic drive-in restaurants. This fast-paced restaurant environment offers an engaging and vibrant workplace where employees interact directly with guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience. The restaurant prides itself on delivering high-quality food products swiftly and efficiently while maintaining operational standards of cleanliness and safety.

This position is designated as a Carhop, reporting directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD). It is a nonexempt role, requiring availability during irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. The Carhop serves as an essential front-line team member responsible for delivering products to guests in a friendly, speedy, and professional manner. This role demands excellent customer service skills combined with physical stamina, as it involves carrying trays weighing up to 25 pounds, balancing food and beverage orders, and if trained, performing duties on roller skates.

The Carhop's responsibilities extend beyond delivery to include assisting guests with payments, making accurate change, clearing trays and trash from vehicles and outdoor areas, and reporting any customer or employee issues to the Manager on Duty. This position also entails regular cleaning and sanitation tasks consistent with company policies, such as mopping, sweeping, washing dishes, and sanitizing food preparation surfaces to uphold the establishment's health and safety standards.

In addition to core duties, the Carhop may be required to move and stock food products weighing up to 50 pounds. For employees trained as Skating Carhops, the role includes the ability to perform duties on roller skates, representing a fun and dynamic variation within the typical service routine.

The role is physically demanding, involving continuous periods of standing, bending, reaching, and lifting within a restaurant environment that exposes employees to heat, hot liquid shortening, freezer conditions, and occasionally extreme outdoor weather. The restaurant emphasizes effective communication, multitasking, and the ability to follow instructions as key components for success in this position.

Overall, the Carhop role is ideal for energetic individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, guest-centered environment and who are able to maintain high standards of service and cleanliness under various working conditions. This opportunity provides valuable experience in customer service, food handling, and teamwork within a friendly and supportive setting.
